This tour is mainly focused on the great migration on the Western Serengeti where the wildebeests cross the Grumeti River.

Detailed High End Western Corridor Migration Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at the airport

After arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro / Arusha), your private driver guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation for dinner and overnight awaiting for your Drive & Fly Out Luxury Safari adventure to start on the following day.

DAY 2: Arusha airport to Manyara Airstrip to Ngorongoro Highlands

Early morning after breakfast, we check out at the lodge and drive straight to Arusha airport to catch a flight at 1000hrs and fly to Manyara airstrip (arriving at 1055hrs) where your driver will pick you up and drive straight to Ngorongoro Highlands at your accommodation for relaxation. Meanwhile we will take lunch on the way to your accommodation.

In the late afternoon or according to time of your choosing, you will do a walking activity on the rim of the crater where you will be taken by your driver guide to the starting point where you will meet your armed ranger and start the walk which is approximately 1-2 hours. You will start your walk on the eastern side of the crater. The track takes you through the beautiful thick forests accompanied by an armed ranger around the contours of the Ngorongoro Crater rim with equally stunning views of the crater floor below. Subsequently you will walk on an easy animal trail and may encounter local Masaai with cattle.

After the activity, you will drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: Ngorongoro crater

After early breakfast, you will descend down the crater which is almost 600m deep.

The Crater was created when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself two to three million years ago. It is equally famous for its geological delights and for being a natural reserve which is home to some of the densest large mammal populations in the whole of the African continent. Undoubtedly the drive down the into the Crater is an adventure in itself and when you reach the Crater floor, you quickly find yourself amongst large numbers of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 bird species. Particularly compelling is that the Crater provides you with the best chance of seeing the endangered black rhino, which you can sometimes spot it in the open grasslands.

After Lunch and an extensive game drive inside the crater, we head for our luxury lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4-6: Ngorongoro to Manyara Airstrip then fly to Grumeti (Western Serengeti)

Early morning after breakfast, we will checkout at The Lodge on the crater rim and drive to Manyara Airstrip to catch your flight at 0835hrs to Grumeti Airstrip (arrival at 1030hrs), Upon arrival, you will meet your driver guide who will brief you and proceed with game viewing on the western Serengeti following the great migration of wildebeests and Zebras.

Around the end of April, May and June, a vast army of wildebeests along with its partners, zebras, elands and gazelles mill around the Western Corridor of the Serengeti, south of the Grumeti River. Harassed behind by lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas and ahead by giant Nile crocodiles, many hundreds perish as some hazard the river crossing while others detour it. But the beauty of the landscape, stretching without end beneath an infinite sky on a Serengeti West Safari, changes something within the watcher, who becomes more aware of the place of humankind within the drama of the animal world.

After Lunch and an extensive game drive, we head for our luxury partner tented camp for dinner and overnight.

You will spend a total of 3 nights on the western corridor.

DAY 7: Onwards Transfer to the airstrip

After breakfast and a bit of relaxation at your accommodation in Serengeti, you will be transferred straight to Grumeti airstrip to catch your flight at 1015hrs and fly to Arusha airport where you will reach at around 1220hrs. Upon arrival at the airport in Arusha, one of our representatives will meet you and receive feedback regarding your trip. If you have a destination of your choice e.g. Zanzibar, we will book that flight for you or you can choose to book on your own. If you are flying back home, we will drive you to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight.

All in all this marks the end of your epic adventure.
